Synopsis

For many parts of rural Kenya, foreign aid is essential to the availability of health care. But what happens when the pandemic shuts down travel so U.S. doctors can't reach an area of Southwestern Kenya where they have served for years? With unprecedented access, producer Angela Noi followed patients and healthcare workers at the Ekerenyo Health Centre for two years for this rare look at how rural areas of East Africa dealt with the pandemic on their own following the health care model developed by an Evansville Indiana non-profit.
