Arooj Aftab (born March 11, 1985) is a Brooklyn-based Pakistani singer, composer, and producer. She became the first-ever Pakistani to win a Grammy Award for her song "Mohabbat" in 2022. She is known for working in multiple musical styles and idioms, including jazz and minimalism, and even integrating her native... neo-Sufi elements into her music. On the 75th diamond jubilee anniversary of Pakistan, the government awarded her the Pride of Performance Award, Pakistan's most prestigious award for excellence in the field of art and music.
