Siwakorn Bunsrang
Siwakorn Bunsrang (b. 2000, Phuket, Thailand) is deeply interested in psychoanalysis and the issues of abuse and neglection, stemming from his own experiences with mental health disorders. He firmly believes that his condition originates from the structural issues in public welfare and the government. For him, filmmaking serves as both... a therapeutic tool and a means to communicate with his subconscious to explore his internal state. He graduated in 2023 from Bangkok University (BU), Faculty of Digital Media and Film Arts. He began submitting films to competitions while in high school and won numerous awards in Thailand. When he entered university, he experimented with new approaches by creating the documentary "When the Wind Blows (2022)" about his grandmother, who had raised him since childhood. Over time, his grandmother faced Alzheimer's disease following the loss of her beloved husband. He wanted to capture his feelings and the state of his beloved grandmother before Alzheimer's took her away permanently. This documentary was nominated for Best Short Film Documentary at The 31st Bangkok Critics Assembly 2022, screened at the Wildtype Film Festival in 2022 across Thailand, and was selected for screening at the Doc Club Film Festival in 2024.
