Anthony Terrence "Tony" Thompson was an American session drummer best known as the drummer of the Power Station and a member of Chic. He also notably performed on Rodgers/Edwards-produced hits by Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, and David Bowie, plus hits for Madonna and Jody Watley. Thompson died of kidney cancer... just a month after being diagnosed, three days before his 49th birthday.
