Austria's Next Topmodel, Cycle 1 was the first Cycle of the Austrian reality documentary based on Tyra Banks America's Next Top Model. The host of the show was Lena Gercke, the first winner of GNTM who is also the first winner of a Top Model franchise that later becomes a host of another Top Model show. The jury consisted of the head of Vienna-based agency Wiener Models Andrea Weidler and Dutch-born runway coach Alamande Belfor. The show caused some controversy, as it was discovered that Tamara Puljarevic, one of the contestants, applied under her father's surname to hide her identity of being the daughter of Svetlana Puljarevic, who is the executive chief of Miss magazine, on whose cover the winner would eventually be featured. She eventually made it to the 2nd runner-up-position but was ultimately surpassed by 16-year-old Larissa Marolt, who was named the first Austria's Next Topmodel and went on to compete on the fourth Cycle of Germany's Next Topmodel hosted by Heidi Klum.
Season 2
25 Nov, 2009
Austria's Next Topmodel, Cycle 2 is the second Cycle of the Austrian reality documentary based on Tyra Banks America's Next Top Model and is currently airing with the theme "Mehr Mädchen, mehr Jet Set, mehr Glamour". Once again Lena Gercke is hosting the show while runway coach Amande Belfore has been replaced by former model and fashion photographer Andreas Ortner. Sabine Landl, who was the styling expert in Cycle 1, is now also a permanent member of the jury. Like last year, the winner will be represented by Wiener Models. Among the other prizes are a cover on Austrian magazine Woman, the face of the newest Hervis campaign as well as two runway jobs at the Milan and Paris Fashion Week. While last years winner Larissa Marolt automatically became a contestant of Germany's Next Topmodel when she won, this will not be the case this time around.
Season 3
06 Jan, 2011
Austria's Next Topmodel, Cycle 3 was the third cycle of the Austrian reality documentary based on Tyra Banks America's Next Top Model and is currently airing with the theme "Wer ist die Schönste im ganzen Land?". Once again Lena Gercke is hosting the show with Elvyra Greyer and Atil Kotuglu joined as new judges. The prizes were a cover on Austrian magazine Woman, the face of the newest Hervis campaign as well as two runway jobs at the Milan and Paris Fashion Week. Significant changes were made in the casting process: The first episode featured castings in all nine Austrian federal states with the top four of each state qualifying for a spot in the first episode. There the top four competed again with the favourite of each state making the final cast directly. The remaining girls still had a shot with the possibility of receiving a wildcard. In the end, five girls were selected, making it a top 14 in total. Another change was that there was one casting to book in every episode where the actual job would take place abroad, however only the winner would be allowed to travel there. The only international destination to where all cast members travelled was New York.
Season 4
12 Jan, 2012
Austria's Next Topmodel, Cycle 4 was the fourth cycle of the Austrian reality documentary based on Tyra Banks America's Next Top Model. Once again Lena Gercke was hosting the show with Elvyra Greyer and Atil Kotuglu returning as the judges. The show began on January 12, 2012 with a short recap of the nation wide castings that were held in every federal state of the country. The 21 best contestants were invited to take part in the very first episode as semifinalists, along with a wildcard contestant who was chosen by Niki Lauda at a separate casting. After the number of contestants was narowed down to 16 the finalists muched into their modelling appartement for the show. An unfortunate event occurred during the airing of the Cycle when contestant Sabrina Angelika Rauch died only three days after the episode of her elimination was aired. The programme paid tribute to her on the next episode. On the Cycles' final America's Next Top Model host and creator of the show Tyra Banks was guest judging when 16-year old Antonia Hausmair became the winner of the Cycle ahead of Gina Adamu, who finished in second place.
